There was a tradition in the faraway penguin kingdom. Every penguin must catch a fish to identify his independence on the rites of passage. The short Anglo was without exception.

“I will catch a most handsome fish to impress everyone!” He talked to himself in his heart silently before he set off. The moonlight was lustrous that night. Stars reflected like diamonds on the smooth frozen water surface. Trembling with cold, Anglo dived into the icy cold sea. He aimed at a big and stout fish, trying to dive swiftly under it. He tried to hide his white feathers on his chest, so he covered his body with his black feathers on his back as a camouflage. Then it was time to wait. One… two… three… All of a sudden, Anglo opened his mouth to bite when the big fish was approaching him. However he misjudged the strength of the stout fish, the small Anglo was pulled off to the deep abyss by the astonished big fish!!!

“Watch out! I am on my way!” At this critical moment, his elder brother seized his foot in no time. “Hang in there! I’m coming!” Anglo was going to give up, but he became courageous when he heard his brother shouting behind him. He made an all-out effort and pulled in the big fish with his brother. Exhausted, they lay down at the beach after they pulled the fish ashore. Before they knew it, morning had broken quietly. The rising sun shone on their bodies and the white feathers on the chest soon turned blonde. Happily they brought back their booty and walked side by side to the ceremony to greet the glory of growth.
